Kristen Johnston diagnosed with a “rare autoimmune disorder”

Kristen Johnston is a recovered drunk and most if not all of her fans know that. What most don’t know is that she found herself ‘almost completely unable to move.’

It took four months and seventeen doctors to find out the serious problem. The two-time Emmy award winning actress from 3rd Rock From the Sun star has been diagnosed with a ‘rare autoimmune disorder.’

Johnston, 46, broke the news to her fans in a post on her personal Facebook fan page Tuesday.

“It’s time for me to be upfront with you about something that’s been going on with me.”

She said she has been ‘really, really sick’ since September and that she’s been experiencing full body muscle weakness that made walking even a strenuous task.

“stairs impossible and I even need a neck brace to hold my head up. Lying down I’m fine, which is great for writing or killing time on social media,” she admitted, “but it’s kind of disastrous when you’re in a sitcom that requires tons of physical comedy.”

Despite her struggles she says that she is finally undergoing the proper treatment and is feeling better. Leah Remini had been brought in to cover for Johnston for a multi-episode arc after she was forced to take a leave of absence for two episodes from her TV Land show. That means she will be playing the role of Stuart’s sister .

Remini’s first episode will air right on New Years day and Johnston writes, “You guys will laugh your asses off at her as Stuart’s sister. I promise, you won’t even miss me! (Well, maybe a teeny tiny bit?)”

Well Kristen Johnston we wish you a speedy recovery! We’re sure your fans will miss you a teeny tiny bit lol. Please stay away from the alcohol though. Lets hope Christmas won’t ruin her sobriety.
